Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (1891–1956) was a visionary leader, jurist, economist, and social reformer who dedicated his life to fighting social discrimination and promoting equality. As the Chairman of the Drafting Committee, he played a central role in framing the Constitution of India. Ambedkar also served as India’s first Law Minister and championed the rights of Dalits and other marginalized communities.

In 1956, he embraced Buddhism and inspired millions through the Dalit Buddhist movement. Affectionately called Babasaheb, he is remembered as the “Father of the Indian Constitution.” He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1990, India’s highest civilian honor.
